Sharp Code ("we", "us") is a UK-based product engineering studio. This policy explains what information we collect when you use sharpcode.co.uk or contact us, and how we handle it. We keep it deliberately short and plain.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you send us — your name, email, company, and anything you write in the contact form or by email.
- Matching requests — if you use our "Compare AI consultants" form, the answers, contact details and location you enter there.
- Basic technical data your browser sends automatically (such as IP address and pages viewed), used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to deliver the engagement.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- If you use the "Compare AI consultants" form: to pass your request to our matching partner, which introduces you to consultants who may suit your project and may contact you about it.
Who we share it with. Requests made through the "Compare AI consultants" form are passed to our matching partner, which may pay us a fee for the introduction. Apart from that, we only share your information with trusted providers that help us run the site and communicate with you (for example, email and hosting), or where the law requires it. Enquiries sent through our contact form or by email stay with us.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are always on: a security token that protects our forms from forgery, and sc_consent, which remembers your cookie choice for 12 months.
Optional analytics cookies are only set if you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner: Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*, kept up to 2 years) and Ahrefs Web Analytics, which help us see which pages are useful. If you reject them, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that stores nothing on your device, and Ahrefs is not loaded. We also count page views with our own cookie-free counter, which stores nothing on your device.

Legal basis
We process enquiry data on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to and managing enquiries. When you submit the "Compare AI consultants" form, we pass your request to our matching partner because you have asked to be matched with consultants.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email info@sharpcode.co.uk and we'll help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
